Ann Lee

Lee is a professor in the Department of Statistics & Data Science at Carnegie Mellon University, with a joint appointment in the Machine Learning Department. She is a founder and co-director of the new STAMPS (Statistical Methods for the Physical Science) Research Center at Carnegie Mellon University. Lee’s research group develops statistical and AI methods for open problems in fundamental physics and environmental sciences. Her recent work includes trustworthy scientific inference with generative models, and probabilistic severe weather forecasting and rare event detection involving satellite imagery and large-scale studies.
