Dominik Moritz is a professor at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University and an ML researcher at Apple. He designs and builds interactive systems for visualization and analysis. At CMU, Moritz co-leads the Data Interaction Group.

Moritz received his Ph.D. from the Paul G. Allen School at the University of Washington, where he worked with Jeff Heer and Bill Howe in the Interactive Data Lab and the Database Group. His systems have won awards at premier academic venues and are used by the Python and JavaScript data science communities.

During his first year at UW, Moritz received support from the Fulbright program. In 2013, he received his B.S. from Hasso Plattner Institute. Moritz is a scholar of the German National Academic Foundation. He has worked with the Open Knowledge Foundation, Google Research, Microsoft Research, and others.
